Spacenet Rural Communications, a business unit of
Gilat Satellite Networks, provides telephony, internet and data services primarily for rural communities in Latin America. We have 16,000 operational sites. It is comprised of wholly owned companies; Gilat to Home Peru S.A., Gilat Colombia S.A. ESP, Gilat Networks Colombia S.A. ESP, and Gilat Satellite Networks Colombia S.A. ESP.
We serve three key markets: governments, operators and enterprises.
In the government market, we provide outsourced services built on a Build-Operate (BO) model. We develop, install and operate the network, allowing governments to offer subsidized public telephony and internet access in rural areas.
With operators, we work on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model. We install the required network, including the hub, provide the operations management required and transfer the final system to the country's citizens. Our outsourcing solution allows operators to fulfill their Universal Service Obligations (USOs) in providing communications access to remote areas
We also serve the enterprise market and the rest of the private sector, where we provide internet access & telephony for businesses of any size.
Overall, our services include operating public phones and telecenters, providing internet access, data transfer, hub operations as well as dedicated network and shared hub services.
Customer Support Operations
Spacenet Rural Communications complements its services with back office support for subsidized telephony and Internet networks, as well as for private Internet, data and telephony clients including a call center, network operations center, field service maintenance, and a pre-paid calling card platform and distribution channels.
